  • Henry Youngman was a comedian and renowned for making one-liner jokes, one of which was ‘Take my wife- please’. He also came up with funny drinking quotes, such as ‘When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading’.
  • Today, Johnny Carson is regarded as the greatest king of late night talk shows. Telling drinking jokes was part of his monologue on The Tonight Show, many of which were aimed at Ed McMahon, his long-time friend and well-known drinker.
